The holiday season is upon us and if you’re like me, you scramble each year to find the perfect gifts for all the special people in your life. This year, I’ve put together a gift guide for all the amazing moms who are freelancers, work-from-home moms, and stay-at-home moms. These holiday gifts for freelancing moms are both practical and luxurious and will help make your freelance friend’s life (or yours) a little easier (and a lot more fun). If you have a mom in your life who is also a freelancer, this gift guide is for you!
HOLIDAY GIFTS FOR FREELANCING MOMS
As a mom who is also a freelancer, I know how difficult it can be to find the time and energy to get everything done. And during the holiday season, it can feel like there’s even more pressure to make things perfect. Here are some of my favorite things that have helped me stay sane (and organized) while working from home.
A Good Planner or Journal
This is a must-have for any busy mom, but it’s especially helpful for those of us who are self-employed. Having a good planner can help you keep track of deadlines, appointments, and client requests. I love the Passion Planner because it has a lot of space for daily to-do lists, goal setting, and progress tracking. One of the best gifts you can give a freelancing mom is a planner or journal. But there are tons of brilliant planners and journals out there, so find one that fits your mom’s needs and personality.
A Cute and Comfy Home Office Chair
If you’re going to be spending hours upon hours in front of your computer, you might as well be comfortable, right? This cute and comfy chair from Amazon is perfect for working from home. It’s stylish enough that it won’t look out of place in your living room or bedroom, but it’s also comfortable enough that you can sit in it for hours without getting sore. Trust me, your neck and back will thank you!
A Noise-Cancelling Headset
Working from home can be great… until your kids fight or the dog barks. That’s why a noise-canceling headset is an absolute must for any freelancer who works from home. When my daughters were younger and I was trying to get work done during naptime, I would often put on a movie or TV show for her so that they would stay quiet while I worked. But inevitably, they would start making noise just when I was on an important phone call or video conference. That’s when I invested in a noise-canceling headset and it made all the difference in the world. Definitely one of the best holiday gifts for freelancing moms.
A Monthly Subscription Box
Freelancers often spend their days working alone, which can get pretty lonely. That’s why I think a monthly subscription box would make an excellent gift for any freelancer mom. With a subscription box, you’ll get something fun and unexpected delivered to your door every month–and it’s the perfect way to take a break from work and treat yourself! One of my favorite subscription boxes is Winc Wine Club. I love wine and love getting unique bottles from different regions every month to try.
A Water Bottle
This might seem like a small thing, but I think it’s important for freelancers to have a water bottle that they love–something that makes them feel happy every time they use it. Personally, I love this water bottle because it is perfect for staying hydrated while working at home (which is crucial when you forget about taking breaks!)
Under Your Desk Treadmill
Good health is the secret sauce to success when you work from home. Self-care and exercise improve your creativity and productivity, so a treadmill that fits under your desk is a magnificent gift for a mom who works from home. She can work while walking and burning calories.
A Day at the Spa
This is the perfect gift for any mom who deserves a day of relaxation. A day at the spa will help her recharge and rejuvenate, and she’ll come back feeling refreshed and ready to tackle whatever freelance project comes her way.
The holidays can be a tough time for freelancers, but with a little planning (and these splendid gifts), you can make it through with your sanity intact! Remember, it’s not about how much money you spend on a gift, but thoughtfulness and taking into consideration what would be most helpful for her business endeavors.
BEST HOLIDAY GIFTS FOR WORK FROM HOME MOMS
Being a freelancer has its perks. You make your own hours, you’re your own boss, and you get to work from home. But let’s be real–being a freelancer is not all rainbows and butterflies. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re working by yourself, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the different hats you have to wear as a business owner. Even with the challenges, being a freelancer is one of the best work-from-home jobs for SAHMS and we need some love too!
A Quality Coffee Maker
When you work from home, it feels good to just pour yourself a cup of coffee and sit down at your desk in your PJs. Investing in a quality coffee maker will help you make better coffee at home, which will save you money (and time) in the long run.
A Cute Coffee Mug
Coffee is essential for any freelancer, so a cute coffee mug is a perfect holiday gift for freelancing moms! I love this motivational coffee mug because it’s stylish, encouraging, and functional. Plus, it will remind your mom to take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee when she needs it most.
Beautiful Face Planter
Does your freelancing mom love plants? Yes, so do I! I keep this little beauty in my office with her flowing pothos hair and she makes me so happy as well as purifies my air. Affordable, practical, and super cool, this gorgeous face planter will put a smile on her face, even on stressful days.
A Comfy Throw Blanket
Another great gift for freelancing moms is a comfy throw blanket. This will help her stay warm while she’s working from home during the colder months. I love this cozy chunky knit blanket from Amazon because it’s super soft and comes in a variety of colors.
A Stylish Weekender Bag
If your mom likes to travel for work, a stylish weekend bag is a perfect gift! This weekend bag from Amazon is both stylish and spacious, which makes it perfect for carrying all of her work essentials. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors so you can find one that fits your mom’s style perfectly.
A Gift Card to Her Favorite Store or Restaurant
Sometimes the best gift you can give is something that lets your mom treat herself! A gift card to her favorite store or restaurant will let her do just that. Whether she loves shopping for clothes or getting her nails done, she’ll appreciate having a little extra money to spend on herself this holiday season.
A Stylish Laptop Bag
Another essential for any freelancer, a stylish laptop bag will make your mom’s workdays a little better. It’s important to have a bag that’s both functional and stylish, and that can transition from work to home (and back again) easier.
A Monthly Subscription to Her Favorite Magazine
What better way to relax and unwind after a long day of work than by reading her favorite magazine? A monthly subscription is a perfect gift for any mom who loves to stay up-to-date on current affairs, and fashion, or just needs some light reading material.
Remember, these holiday gifts for freelancing moms don’t have to be expensive–sometimes the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart!
BEST GIFTS FOR STAY-AT-HOME MOMS
Being a stay-at-home mom is one of the most important and rewarding jobs out there. It’s also one of the most challenging. From never-ending laundry and dishes to constant childcare, it’s easy to feel you’re running on empty. It’s also a job that doesn’t come with a lot of recognition or appreciation. So, this holiday season, let’s show the stay-at-home moms in our lives just how much we appreciate all they do with a thoughtful gift. Here are the best gifts for stay-at-home moms to help you relax, recharge, and remember what an amazing job you’re doing:
A New Outfit
I don’t have any plans to go anywhere fancy anytime soon, (hello mom life) but just knowing that I have a new pair of shoes waiting in my closet makes me feel good. It’s like a little reminder that I deserve to treat myself every once in a while, even if I don’t have anywhere to wear them. So if you’re feeling low this holiday season, or you just need a pick-me-up, treat yourself to something nice. You deserve it!
A Night Out With the Girls
As a busy mom, it can be hard to find time to relax and enjoy some much-needed girl time. This holiday season, treat yourself to a night out on the town with your best girlfriends—no kids allowed! While it may seem like a luxury to hire a babysitter, it’s actually an important investment in your mental health. And what better way to unwind than by enjoying some holiday cheer with the ladies?
A Weekend Getaway
There’s nothing like a weekend getaway to rejuvenate your spirit. Whether you’re escaping the city for some fresh air or taking a break from your usual routine, getting away from it all is sure to do you a world of good. There are plenty of great destinations to choose from, so you’re sure to find somewhere that’s just right for you. If you’re looking for adventure, why not go camping or spend a few days in a cabin in the woods? For a more relaxed experience, book a hotel room in the city and explore all the sights and sounds that it has to offer. No matter where you go, spending some time away from home is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and hit the road!
Tickets to a Show or Concert
Going out to see a show is the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether it’s a Broadway musical, a local band at a Bar, or an orchestral performance, live entertainment offers a chance to relax and forget your troubles for a few hours. And there’s nothing quite like seeing a live performance to appreciate the talent of the performers. Even if you don’t think the mom in your life is particularly into music or theater, I encourage you to give it a try. There’s sure to be a show out there that will appeal to your taste. So go ahead and treat yourself – you deserve it!
A New Book
After a long day of work, there’s nothing I enjoy more than curling up with a good book. It’s the perfect way to unwind and escape into another world for a while. I always make sure to choose a lighthearted book that’s easy to read so I can fully relax while I’m reading it. A nice fun easy-to-read book is a great gift for freelancing moms.
An Afternoon at the Movies
Have you ever gone to a movie by yourself? I love going to see movies by myself. I don’t have to worry about what anyone else wants to watch or what they think of the movie. I can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Plus, I always buy popcorn and candy beforehand so I can fully indulge in the experience. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours of peace.
A Day Off Parenting Duties
This is probably one of the best gifts you can give yourself as a stay-at-home mom! Hire a babysitter or trade shifts with another parent so you can have an entire day (or even just an afternoon) off from being “on duty.” You can use this time however you please, whether it’s sleeping in, taking care of errands, or just enjoying some much-needed alone time.
Being a stay-at-home mom is hard work and your friend will appreciate you thinking of her in ways that give her permission to relax and recharge with these great gift ideas specifically tailored for stay-at-home moms.
As a mom myself and a freelancer, I know how important it is to have products that make our lives easier and help us stay organized. I hope this list has given you some ideas for what to get the freelancer mom in your life this holiday season! Remember, it’s important to choose gifts that are both practical and luxurious, and that will help make her freelance life a little easier (and a lot more fun). Happy shopping!
