You’re never fully dressed without a smile, so they say. But how can you smile when you are unhappy and frustrated with your wardrobe? I found myself in this predicament half way through my second pregnancy when none of my clothes fit anymore and I only had maternity clothing left. I have a love/hate relationship with maternity clothes – on one hand they are comfy – but on the other hand they tend to be unflattering, are so expensive and have such a short closet life.

But my love hate relationship may be coming to an end…

Four weeks ago, I welcomed my second daughter into the world and instantly found myself in that weird clothing limbo of my maternity clothes being too big and my pre-pregnancy clothes still being too small to wear. So what is a mama to do when she is trying to look cute postpartum?

You try postpartum nursing wear for the first time! I was recently gifted with a super cute dress that serves a dual purpose as a maternity dress and postpartum nursing dress from PinkBlush, and let me tell you I loved it the minute I opened the package.

Ybor City Saturday Morning Farmer’s Market

The Peach Floral Short Sleeve Maternity Wrap Dress is made with a soft flattering material, which kept me cool and comfortable on a 90 degree and sunny day in Tampa. The material did not cling to my skin even though I was starting to get sweaty. The peach color and floral print looked beautiful on my nutmeg skin tone and although I am physically bigger than I’ve ever been in my life, I felt very beautiful and confident in my new wrap dress.

The most exciting thing about this multi purpose nursing dress is that it can be worn dressed up with heels and a cardigan (in cooler months) or worn casually with sandals, and a denim jacket. I wore this dress to both a Saturday morning farmer’s market and to church all in one weekend. Warning: the cleavage on this dress can be considered revealing for some especially to a place like church. I actually had a nip slip while at church in this dress. So wearer be careful! Being only four weeks postpartum, I ordered a size large in this nursing dress and it fit true to size and I felt beautiful and confident in my postpartum body.

This dress had only one flaw in my opinion – trying to nurse my daughter in public wearing it. Let me set the scene. I was at the farmer’s market with my family and my newborn was hungry so I sat down in a courtyard to nurse. I was sweaty and my newborn was sweaty, this is not the dress’s fault but I want you to understand how I felt. I was able to comfortably whip my breast out to nurse my daughter despite being sweaty. My flaw with the peach nursing maternity dress is how exposed my breast was to the public. I am a huge supporter of the normalize breastfeeding movement but I’m not a huge fan of MY breasts being more exposed than in a bikini top.

Nursing in my PinkBlush maternity dress

One suggestion to make this maternity dress even better than it is, is by creating a nursing flap hidden under the boob, so there is some fabric covering the top breast for mothers who want to be a little more modest and covered up when nursing in public without having to use a full nursing cover. It’s too hot in warmer cities like Tampa to wear a nursing cover.

Despite it’s one design flaw for nursing, I really loved how I felt and looked in the PinkBlush peach nursing wrap dress. It was perfect for a beautiful flirty look on a hot summer day.

If you love this look you are in luck. PinkBlush is giving one of my lucky readers the chance to win a $75 PinkBlush gift card! The giveaway will run from Monday, July 29th to Friday, August 2nd, 2019.
