Six weeks of fun "hard work" learning how to survival swim and float was almost messed up by a fever and a cold in her last week, but Gabriella pushed through and graduated with a smile! 🥰

You may have heard the term freelancer or even know a few freelancers and you love the idea of making money on your own terms offering skills you already have but not sure if starting an "online business" is for you.

One of my favorite things about being a freelancer is the creativity. You are free to create where you work, how you work, how much you charge and even what you offer. So your online business can really be whatever you want it to be.

Ever work a job that you hated?

As a freelancer, you can only offer services doing the things you love.

And if you think you don't have a skill set that can earn you money, I got good news for you, you do!

✨️Think about tutoring as a freelance option.

🎧Were you a customer service rep?

✨️You can pitch customer service departments as a freelancer offering seasonal help.

Before the age of 1, my baby girl has been obsessed with sea creatures, mermaids, and all things ocean. And now she tells me she wants to be a scuba diver and scientist. 👩🏾‍🔬

Within a few months of being a stay-at-home mom, I knew I wanted to work again...⁣
⁣
but not in a traditional corporate job.⁣
⁣
I felt like I spent every waking moment being a mom (because I did) and I wanted something that was just for me. ⁣
I missed earning my own money and spending my own money (without asking). ⁣
I wanted to feel valued and make an impact.⁣
⁣
The only problem was?⁣
⁣
Almost everything I did was taking me away from my family and that was never the goal. ⁣
⁣
It wasn't until freelancing found me that I realized offering a service that I was already skilled in was the best way to earn really good money AND work from home on my time without sacrificing time away from my girls. ⁣
⁣
Being a stay-at-home mom is hard. Being an unhappy stay-at-home mom who feels unfulfilled and still desires more is even harder and truth be told, it's ok. ⁣
⁣
We all have felt that way at one point or another. ⁣
⁣
Wanting to work and earn money AND still stay at home and raise your children, doesn't make you a bad mom. ⁣

It makes you pretty awesome in my opinion. ⁣

Freelancing wasn't my first (or second) attempt at making money from home to stay home with my girls.

I've tried so many things and had so many failures and learning experiences.

And to this day, freelancing has proven to be the best path for me and my family.

If you’ve always wanted to stay home with your kids, but need something to do to make money but don’t know what to do or where to start, then freelancing may be for you!

This morning I had one of those full circle moment

This morning I had one of those full circle moments, as I watched my daughter take her first virtual Spanish lesson with @hsaonline . 🇦🇲

You may not know this about me but years ago before I even had children, I decided I wanted to be a work from home mom.

I had a vision for how I wanted my life to look, how I wanted to raise my family and how I wanted to earn money. And everything in my heart told me I was meant to work for myself.

One of my first work from home jobs was teaching English virtually to young Chinese students.👩🏾‍🏫

I worked super early mornings and very late nights teaching. It wasn't an ideal schedule for a mom with a newborn but I was determined to make it work because I promised myself I wasn't going to step foot in another person's office again as an employee.

That's a big promise to declare but I was ambitious.

Fast forward 5 years, I never thought I'd be on the other end of the camera watching my daughter learn the Spanish alphabet, feeling grateful and proud because not only have I kept that promise to myself but I've found a career path that makes me happy, fuels me creatively and allows me to give my daughter educational opportunities like these on a schedule that fits our lifestyle.

For the moms who loving being stay-at-home moms but miss earning money and feeling valuable, you can do both. Don't let anyone tell you it's not possible.

Keep dreaming because it's possible. 🌠
