The 1 thing every nursing mother needs…

Breastfeeding is a natural part of life. It’s almost magic being able to produce liquid gold from your body to feed and nourish your child. But breastfeeding does not come without its challenges. Low milk supply/flow, night time feedings, trouble latching, and around the clock nursing on demand are just some of the challenges breastfeeding mothers face. Despite these challenges there was one that has been overlooked for years and is now recently getting the awareness it deserves – breastfeeding in public!

The normalize breastfeeding movement has been significant in helping mothers feel comfortable no matter where they live to confidently breastfeed in public without fear or backlash.

One way this movement is being made possible by an innovative clothing brand that saw a need for discreet nursing wear in the market. Meet Milk Nursingwear.

Milk Nursingwear creates stylish, comfortable, and affordable nursing shirts, nursing dresses, and other nursing apparel that makes you feel confident and beautiful while allowing you to breastfeed discretely.

I had the pleasure to review a nursing shirt and a nursing dress from Milk Nursingwear and let me tell you I am so happy I did. I’ve tried different nursing shirts and so far this one by Milk Nursingwear is my favorite!

The purple triangle cut out nursing shirt not only looked great on but it felt great. The deep purple color is a beautiful shade and did not fade after a few washes. The rayon and lycra material is very soft, breathable, stretchy and did not stick to me. Breastfeeding in public is tough to do in Florida because of the heat and the humidity, this nursing shirt made it comfortable to do despite the heat. My favorite part of the shirt is how discreet I can nurse without have to flash my entire breast to do so. There are no clips or buttons to pull down the extra fabric to nurse. It was very easy to maneuver one handed to get full access to my breast without drawing attention to myself. It fit true to size, I received a large size and I am currently 5’7 and 179 lbs. I’ve been able to nurse at indoor playgrounds, at splash parks, at church, my car, I even took a business video call while nursing! For the first time ever I do not feel embarrassed or uncomfortable doing so, instead I feel and look beautiful.

Must stop for a snack break!

The split sleeve nursing dress looks so much cuter on than when I received it! I wore the dress to church and felt very comfortable, beautiful, yet modest. The dress fit larger than I thought it would so I should have received a medium size but nonetheless because it’s a slightly fitted dress it hugged my new post partum curves just right without being too tight. I love the fit and the feel. The navy blue color was a little too dark for my liking but what else could I expect from navy blue. The split sleeve gave this dress some va va voom which offsets the boring navy blue color. Although, the dress was a very dark color, I still felt cool outside nursing in August because the material was surprisingly light.
