Is quarantine life and mandatory stay home orders affecting your mompreneur motivation? Are you struggling to complete tasks, stay energized and positive and make steps towards your goal?
You are not alone. This is a unique unprecedented time for everyone on a global scale right now. Every time you turn on the news, there is more bad news than good news. You are usually extremely focused, disciplined, and motivated to work towards your dreams, but lately you are finding yourself feeling blah.
And that’s ok to live in this emotional blah state for a little bit. Sometimes mental and emotional rest is needed. But if you are ready to wake up from quarantine life, out of the funk, you’re in luck sis. I have five mental shifts that you need as a mom boss to push through quarantine life.
5 Mental Shift All Mompreneurs Need
Stay Grounded In Your Faith: Staying grounded in my faith during this uncertain time has kept me from losing it. Take time to read my bible, devotional, and/or listen to sermons online. I connect daily with God, allowing him to give me peace so He can use me to do the work he set for me to do. I also started meditating during quarantine life. If you do not have a faith practice, this is the best time to adopt one.
Put Your Body Over Business. Being a mompreneur is as mentally taxing as it is physically. Adopt a wellness routine that is done every day. Before you check emails or start thinking about work, take time to wake up your body and mind. Drink water, meditate, exercise, and eat breakfast that has substance to it. Every successful entrepreneur swears by having a daily workout routine for good reason. Whether it’s a long walk in the morning or a 30 minute cardio or virtual Barre class, getting your blood pumping is important. During this time, increasing your self care is crucial and highly advisable. Look sis, we are all stressed. Use this time to take longer showers, read books you enjoy, start a fun non work related hobby, and love yourself more.
Adjust Your Expectations. Working from home or running a business from home is a marathon, not a sprint. Anything in life worth having will take time. Right now whether you are happy with the slower pace of life that was forced on you or not, you have to accept that right now under the circumstances you may not be able to do everything you want to do. Do what you want the best you can and you will reach your business goals soon enough. There will always be work to be done, but you cannot perform at your best if you are stressed and burnt out. Take time to rest and recharge.
Surround Yourself With Mom Bosses! This one is huge. You are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with. If you want to be successful, hang out and learn from other successful moms who are doing what you want to do. This is a perfect time to invest in yourself and your business. Join a mastermind, an online community of women in your industry, a networking group, or even a Facebook group. This global pandemic may be a blessing in disguise forcing you to take time to prioritize and level up in your business. Always wanted to start a blog? Do it. Use that as motivation. Where do you want to see yourself and your business the months after this is over?
Have A Huge Mission This is DEEP but so vital to staying motivated in the pursuit of your passion. See the word I said there: passion. In our society, everyone is trying to make money fast. There are many mamas who sign up for online businesses that aren’t passionate because they may be desperate to provide for their family.
Now there is nothing wrong with using the need to provide as fuel to become successful, but it may not last long. If you are passionate about knitting, start a business on teaching people how to knit. If you are passionate about makeup, create an online course on make-up application. The point is, turn your passion into a paycheck. Do not just chase money. Chase the ideas that excites you and keeps your brain racing at night. That’s what you are passionate about.
Quarantine Life Has Nothing On Your Ambition
Mama, you are a mompreneur. Your job never stops, but you aren’t superhuman. You are still a mom. A mom who sacrifices to see her dream and vision become a reality for her family. You should be proud of your ambition.
You know it’s not a balancing act, but instead a juggling act, and soon you will be a master juggler.
Mama, I am rooting for you. I want to see you and more moms home with their families being the BREADWINNERS. Yes, I said breadwinners while baking cooking for the school bake sale. That’s my mission! You can do it
