Is Drinking Wine Really Healthy?

Before I jump into the Winc review, let’s talk about this healthy debate. Yes, drinking wine is really healthy, in moderation. There are several benefits to drinking a glass of wine. Wine is antioxidant-rich which helps reduce your risk of disease. Wine has anti-inflammatory properties which means it reduces chronic inflammation which may cause autoimmune diseases, heart diseases, and certain cancers. Studies have shown that people who drink red wine specifically, have reduced rates of heart disease, a lower risk of high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Excessive drinking of wine causes the opposite effects and can have long-term negative effects on your health. So definitely enjoy your glass of wine (I do!), but remember to drink responsibly.

How Does Winc Work?

Winc curates over a hundred wines and makes the experience of exploring wine easy and pleasurable. This is amazing for you if you love wine but don’t like guessing which bottle you should try. Instead, you get to spend more time enjoying your glass of wine versus shopping for it.

  1. Winc Wine Club takes the guesswork out of shopping for wine at an affordable monthly price. Before starting the membership, you first take a one-minute quiz with six questions.
  1. Winc wine experts then tailor four delicious wines for you based on your taste preferences each month.
  1. Rate your wines so Winc can perfect your palate. If you do not like a bottle, they will replace it with another bottle that you do like.
  1. The Winc membership options are flexible so you can choose your own bottles.
  1. There are no strings attached. If you need to skip a month or cancel at any time, you can have no questions asked.
  1. Once you have a Winc membership, you’ll always get the members-only price. Since many of Winc’s wines are available for purchase at retail locations like stores and restaurants, this members-only discount is a deal.

Wine Wine Club Review: Quality.

Winc uses a modern approach to winemaking. They use minimal intervention wine-making methods and sustainable farming techniques to create amazing wines for us! Winc focuses on quality, not quantity, so they make smaller batches to allow winemakers to make wine with real character. As someone who cares about our planet, good wine-making practices matter to me. I am not perfect by any means but do my best where I can.

Why Sustainable Farming?

Sustainable farming was designed with the intention to preserve the environment and the earth’s natural resources. Sustainable farming restores and nourishes the soil which leads to healthier plants and animals, resulting in much more nutritious food for people. Healthy plants grow healthy grapes which are then used in the winemaking process to produce a clean bottle of wine.

Winc Wine Club Review: Convenience

The magic word for all busy mom entrepreneurs – convenience! When you have a home to manage, children to raise, and a business to grow, taking things off your plate so you can focus on what really matters is key. And your wine shopping should be one of them! We should all strive to save time on daily tasks where we can because it allows us to focus on other things that add to our quality of life.

The Winc club subscription is perfect for you, if you love trying new wines, don’t want to waste time searching the wine aisle, or if you simply love getting gifts in the mail!

Look at this beautiful selection of wine from Winc! Each box is a surprise with two red wines and two white wines.

Does Winc Make a Good Gift:

I think Winc makes a great wine gift idea and subscription service for moms. Because of the personalized nature of Winc, they don’t ship wine to customers without someone setting up an account first. This means when you give a Winc gift, you give an electronic gift card (prepaid credits) for your recipient to use to set up their membership. You can pick how much you want to spend (the smallest amount is $60, but they offer other amounts from $100 to $600 in $50 increments). Check out other gift ideas for mom here.

H2: Is Winc Wine Club Worth It? Price.

There are two ways to determine the price of a wine delivered in a wine subscription box.

The first is to assess whether the wines are being sold to members at a discount. In the case of Winc, who also sells their wine via Whole Foods, fine wine stores, and at restaurants and hotels, this is an easy comparison. Members will always get a members discount.

The second pricing consideration is whether or not you can find similar wines at the same or better prices. For me, the answer is no. I live in South Florida and I haven’t been able to find some of the wines that are produced in the Santa Barbara County and Paso Robles regions of California in my local supermarket.

On a considerably lower priced bottle of wine at Bj’s Wholesale Club, I expect to pay anywhere from $40-$60 for 4 bottles of wine depending on the winemaker.

This wine club sends good quality wine at affordable prices — especially their higher-end Chardonnays, Cabernets, Pinot Noir, and an array of other interesting varieties.

Folly of the Beast is a delicious semi-sweet Pinot Noir. Although I like a less sweet Pinot Noir, this paired well with my surf and turf dinner.

Winc Wine Club Conclusion:

The Winc club subscription is perfect for you if you love to drink wine, are adventurous and love trying new wines, don’t have time (or don’t want to waste time) searching the wine aisle looking for your next treat, and if you simply love getting gifts or subscriptions in the mail!

Winc’s sustainable farming practices makes you feel good about your contribution to our planet while sipping your favorite wine.

This monthly wine club is a wonderful self-care treat to yourself that is not only convenient but affordable. In other words, by virtue of paying a flat fee per wine box delivery, you’re saving money on both lower priced and more expensive bottles of wine. Overall, the price really averages out to be super affordable, comparable and convenient!
