The author Joel Marion is very passionate about helping people lose weight in a non restrictive way. In this book, the author provides information backed by scientific research that disprove the popular myth that eating after 7 pm hurts weight loss efforts.

I took my book review a little further and tried following the diet plan that Joel Marion laid out in his book to reach my post partum goals. Although, I was very open minded to trying intermittent fasting for weight loss, it is not recommended that a breastfeeding mother try it. 

Learning all the benefits of intermittent fasting, I am very excited to give it a go in a few months when I am no longer breastfeeding my youngest. 

Several weeks into a modified breastfeeding friendly version of intermittent fasting and working out four days a week doing a combination of weight lifting, HIIT, and cardio, not only did I lose pounds, but I am sleeping better, I feel lighter, more energized, and my clothes fit better. 

“Avoiding carbohydrates and restricting calories later in the day can have an adverse effect on your thyroid hormones, which play a major role in metabolism. When the thyroid fails to secrete enough of the hormones that control metabolism, this can trigger symptoms like fatigue, depression, weight gain, thinning hair, and dry skin.”

This weight loss diet plan is so easy to follow. I plan to stick with it by referring to the book again and again for breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipe ideas and meal guide to make proactive food choices to bring me closer to my goal.
